time to get new house slippers
It really needed to happen. My old, old, old (I don’t know how many years old now) Reebok’s had been losing the little inside rubber pieces for months, then the sides started to rip off. I tried to nail & screw the flap back on, but after a couple more weeks, that idea failed too.
So I was stuck wearing my old persian slippers my grandmother gave me years ago. They really are horrible - way too big, uncomfortable, make a clunking sound (from the hard but hollow plastic base) wherever I go — but I keep them because they’re persian, different, and from Maman. Here’s a pic:

I was going to wait until Christmas for a new pair of slippers, the Adidas Adissage, which is selling at Amazon.com for about $25. But while walking in the garment district in new york, I passed my a sneaker store and decided to ask if they had them. I was led upstairs, where I asked again. And lo and behold, they had them on sale for $10!!! In my size, in black with light pink…perfect! They look like this:

And I like them, but they really need to be broken in. I kind of remember my old Reebok’s needed breaking in too, but they had softer rubber spikes, not these harder plastic ones. And the flap on the Adidas’s seems cheaper too — is it the times that have changed (EVERYTHING is made cheaper nowadays), or did I just get a knock-off pair? They did come in an Adidas box, etc, but anything’s possible nowadays so I’m not sure.
I just hope I break them in soon so they can stop hurting and start becoming my favorite slippers…

Oh man you’re so cute! My sis wanted a pair of slippers like that, with the strap to the side instead of in between the toes. I bought her and myself a pair for really cheap in a 99 cent store. They look really comfy. When they wear out maybe I’ll buy a pair of those. Good luck breaking them in and I hope they last as long as your other ones did. =)
